There was a change in the air. She could feel it. She could sense it on the winds. However, she couldn’t put a finger on it. What was changing or how it was changing, she couldn’t tell. That worried her. Usually, she was in tune with her surroundings. That wasn’t happening now.

Perhaps it was because she found herself in a different area of the woods; one that she’d stumbled upon and couldn’t work her way out of. She didn’t recognize the disturbances in the underbrush. The shadow patterns from the tree boughs were foreign. The sounds and smells were off. Nothing was right.

She wanted to go home. She missed her friends and fellow warriors. She missed her usual meal and the usual chatter that went with it. Here those things were missing. Here she was alone. Here she was vulnerable. She needed to go home. She just didn’t know how.

It was annoying. Not knowing how to navigate was bad in the wilderness. It was dangerous, too. As soon as she found her way back to her camp, well her home, she would study the art of tracking. While she was certain she would never become a master at that particular skill, she could become adequate at it.

A rustle in the background startled her. Head going up, the woman’s hand went to her weapon. She stayed quiet. She waited. Who could it be? Was there another lost stranger? Was someone tracking her? Only the moments would tell.

Leaving the safety of Arkadia was maybe not the best course of action, but he was sure that he'd gotten far enough away, toward the outer edges of Trikru boarders that he would be safe. He knew these woods as good as any, he grew up out here. First with his nontu and then alongside Rhys and Viktor as they searched for his sister. He was working on finishing the drawing of the map of as much of the Clan borders as he knew, but he wanted to make sure that he had some of the spacing right. He knew where they were, knew the landmarks by sight, but this wasn't a map for him, this was one for Skaikru to hold on to, so they didn't go wandering into dangerous territory.

Again.

And get themselves into even more trouble without even realizing it.

Again.

Thankfully the only place where they could really wander into that kind of trouble was the stretch of land that touched Azgeda borders and that was further north from here. Where he was now, he knew that there was a good chunk of disputed land between Trikru and the Broadleaf clan to the West. Whether it belonged to anybody or not wasn't the point, it was still important to know because if it happened to be at a time when Trikru and the Broadleaf or even the Glowing Forest were looking to push their borders, it wouldn't be good to have a scouting party of Skaikru wandering into a battlefield. It was true that Lexa had united them, so any expansion should go through their Heda, but Lincoln had his doubts that there was always a chance. Better safe than dead.

It was this thought that preceded his hearing a branch snap ahead of him and without hesitation, Lincoln ducked further into the underbrush, completely invisible from the outside. Creeping forward, scouting trained into every muscle, Lincoln peered through the brush, looking out curiously. Standing in the middle of the woods was a young woman, her paint and armor marked her as Trikru, which immediately put Lincoln on edge. She needed to not see him at all. Finding a good solid branch just above his head, Lincoln reached up and drew himself carefully into the tree, climbing a little higher to wait out the warrior, having not seen a bow on her person. Up was safer, not that someone from his former clan couldn't climb trees. This looked very much like a trap and from his new perch, Lincoln scanned the other trees, looking for some hidden warriors that he might have missed.

What was she doing out here, and alone?
